Hunting for buried treasure...

One family activity we have taken a liking too is geo caching. The thrill of the hunt, imagining we are pirates looking for buried treasure, and the anticipation of what we will find when we arrive where "X" marks the spot are just a few reasons why this activity has become one of the top 5 on our favorite things to do list.

You just never know what you will find and sometimes the findings are interesting and odd, but other times they are unexciting. Not for the boys though...everything the boys find is exciting to them.  I wish I could look at life how they do. Everything is a new adventure for them. Such fearless and inquisitive little eyes that are always staring back at me.

This time though on our hunt we found a box full of goodies...whistles, paddle ball, stickers, pencils, beaded necklaces, and more. The understanding is that you may take a trinket, but also leave one behind in the process. The boys examined all the contents of the box, carefully choosing what they would take with them. Indecisiveness is a trait the boys have gotten from their father that is for sure. So after 20 minutes of some careful and relentless decision making, the boys finally decided on two tiny whistles. The walk back to the car was full of high pitched chirps and giggles.
