Surrounded in Color...

A couple weeks ago my mom, sister, the boys, and I all decided to take an afternoon drive up to the mountains to check out the Autumn colors in all their glory.

We pulled off onto a dirt road near the town of Divide, dust kicking up behind the tires as we steadily drove along on the hunt for the perfect spot to get out and explore.

We traveled up and down through curvy roads. Sometimes there were openings and we had beautiful panoramic views for miles, and other times all we could see were dense forests of tall towering trees.

We finally decided on a spot to escape the metal confines of the dust ridden Durango we had been traveling in. It turned out to be the perfect spot!

The boys loved exploring through the trees, trudging through the crunchy leaves that had already fallen from their branches.

The colors were just gorgeous. I always look forward to this time of year and all the color it brings to the outdoors. This season brings such a beauty to God's country that can't even be sufficiently explained with words.

It was a beautiful way to spend the day with some of my most favorite people in the world.
